2016 saw a route change back to the original route running from Oranjerus, to Blouputs and back, via Gravel roads. The challengers was served lunch and drinks at the  Kalahari River and safari venue, approximately 25km North of Kakamas. The venue served as an oasis from the heat of the day, and an oppurtunity for tablers to mingle and converse with the Biking community.

All in all we had about 70 bikes doing the run, with both a green and red route available. The red route proved quite difficult for the riders with a few technically difficult areas not being very friendly to tires.

The Kalahari challenge is one of our most anticipated events of the year, and 2016 has not disapointed.

Upington Roundtable would really like to thank the main coordinators of the day, Istvan Mayer from Auto Luxus Motorrad for again putting together a wonderful day for the bikers as well as the tablers.

We look forward to next year, when the next Kalahari Bike challenge will be held.
